Injury Time . . . with Jerome O'Connell

MEATH certainly weren’t giving any advantages to Limerick ahead of last Saturday’s round four All-Ireland qualifier.
Limerick manager Mickey Ned O’Sullivan and coach Donie Buckley travelled up to Pairc Tailteann in Navan for the Royal County’s round three win over Roscommon, but they had also hoped to get a cameraman to video the game for further analysis.
It’s understood that Croke Park had given Limerick permission to video the game, but Meath had other ideas.
“I told Croke Park officials there was no way Limerick would be allowed into our ground to a record a third-party game,” Meath chairman Barney Allen confirmed last week.
“I had no problem with Limerick coming and scouting. Indeed, Mickey Ned O’Sullivan was at the game, but they didn’t get their video.
“Croke Park must have contacted Limerick County Committee and told them we wouldn’t be letting them because no one tried to gain access,” the Meath chairman was quoted as saying.

All-Ireland Quiz
AS part of their ongoing 125 celebrations the GAA Museum in Croke Park is to host a special All-Ireland quiz.
Entry is open to GAA enthusiasts nationwide who can hold their own in a battle of keenness, passion and recollection for Gaelic Sport.
Memory man Jimmy Magee will act as quizmaster for the quiz will run over two nights starting with a qualifying round on Friday August 28 at 8.30pm in the GAA Museum auditorium.
GAA museum staff members are hoping that there will be a good national spread of participants and are encouraging Limerick supporters to take part and put their GAA knowledge to the ultimate test.
Those who survive the qualifier night will enter into a ‘head to head’ battle in the All-Ireland GAA Quiz grand final which will take place on Friday September 18.
The All-Ireland 125 Quiz champion will get a trophy, tickets to the GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Championship Final, dinner and a night in the four star Croke Park Hotel.
The reigning champion will also make a guest appearance on GAA on RTÉ’s Sunday Game on the day of the GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Championship Final.
All proceeds will go to the GAA designated charity CARI.
Participation in the qualifying round is €20 per person.

Home For Hurling
ETIHAD Airways, the UAE’s national airline and sponsor of the All-Ireland senior hurling championship, are running a ‘Home For Hurling’ competition.
The competition asks members of the public to nominate friends or family members who are living aboard for the chance to be flown back to Ireland to attend the All-Ireland final from anywhere on the Etihad Airways network.
Not only will the winner get the chance to nominate two people to be flown home for the final but also the opportunity to avail of two return tickets to the same destination.
The competition will run until 7pm on Sunday August 16 when the lucky winner will be announced later that evening on RTE’s Sunday Game, which will feature Limerick’s semi-final against Tipperary.
The ‘Home For Hurling Final’ prize in total consists of two return flights for the nominated people to be flown back to Dublin for the final, two return tickets to the same destination for the winner, four tickets to the hurling final, two nights accommodation for four people and €1,000 in spending money.
