All set for Dolan’s Team of the Decade

THE eyes of the Limerick soccer fraternity will be fixed on Dolan’s Pub on the Dock Road this Friday night (September 10) when the Dolan’s Team of the Decade will be announced.
The search for the best junior soccer players of the last ten years (2000-2010) began earlier this summer with the nominations whittled down to 50 in August.
Great credit is due to Dolan’s proprietor Mick Dolan for his generous sponsorship of an event which will see friend and foe drop their guard for an evening.
The judges (Pat Mullally, Sean Hehir, Aidan Ryan, Christy Earls & Derek Whyte) have selected their final 11 which will be announced on the night. The event is open to the public with proceedings kicking off at 9pm in the upstairs venue of Dolans Pub. The final team was picked from the following nominees and it is hoped that as many as possible will attend on the night.
Nominees - Goalkeepers: Gordon Stewart, Paudie Hickey, Kevin Fitzpatrick, Owen Lynch & Ian Bennis.
Full-Backs: Mike Ahern, David Dunphy, Pat Mitchell, Trevor Cosgrave, Declan Considine, John Corbett, Alan Sheehan, Ronan Hanrahan & Declan Casey.
Centre-Backs: Colm Enright, Tom Daly, Pat McGarry, Garrett Ryan, Mike Carey, Dara Droog, Brian Buckley & Philip Purcell.
